m for mindful
I made this website for myself. The little notes help me talk to myself like I'd to a friend – with kindness . When the going gets tough, I often come back to these reminders I collected from my therapist, random quotes and everyday life. Many humans go through their own mental health struggles and a lot of us share the same conditions. Maybe this website will help someone else too. More about me and this site • In crisis?
Extra details
This website is a personal project. My name is Shankar, a UI designer who designs apps and websites like this one. I have a personal site at ShankarUX.com
Some design details – the headings are set in 'Instrument Serif', a beautiful serif with a tall x-height. The body text is set in 'Xanh mono', a tall monospace serif that has a dreamy quality to it. I have been itching to use these typefaces in a project for a while now!
The website's art direction is 'bare'. Our minds are busy and the lack of colors provide a detox from the colorful screens everywhere. The monospaced font and light-colored stickies aim to elicit a feeling of lightness, in both a visceral and metaphorical sense.
